About Us
Funding provided by the Phillip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation has allowed Project Opportunity to add four (4) additional components:
- An eight week (24 hours) Military Spouse Entrepreneurship Training Program
- An Annual Business Pitch Competition for Project Opportunity Graduates
- Free Business Counseling and Mentoring for Project Opportunity Graduates
- Free Seminars and Workshops tailored to small businesses for both Project Opportunity Graduates and Veteran Small Business Owners

Spouse Course
Military Spouse Entrepreneurship Training Program
Project Opportunity has developed a 24-hour course (3 hours per night for 8 weeks) which will allow participants to learn how to research, write, and develop a business plan. We will utilize a NxLevel curriculum and supplement the curriculum with presentations by subject matter experts in:
Market Research and Analysis, Small Business Financials, Small Business Credit, Business Entities, Social Media, Website Design, and Commercial Insurance.

Annual Business Pitch Competition
An opportunity provided to each of our Project Opportunity Graduates to apply for acceptance into our Annual Business Pitch Competition. Those applicants selected to compete in the Business Pitch are enrolled in the Pitch Creator Foundation Course and assigned a Business Pitch Coach to assist them in the preparation of their Pitch Slide Deck.

Free Business Counseling and Mentoring
During the 11-week cohort sessions the veterans in each cohort develop a strong and trusting relationship with their course instructors. It is a natural flow of processes for these instructors and other subject matter experts who have been presenters to different cohorts to have the ability to work one on one with our graduates to assist them. This business counseling would include but not be limited to:
Refining Business Plans
Assisting in locating potential sources of capital
Developing growth strategies
Developing business pitches
Assisting with the SDVOSB/VOSB Certification Application Process
Assisting with the State of Maryland MBE Certification Application
Website Consultation
Small Business Management
Small Business Finances
Marketing and Sales Strategies
Refining your personal leadership style
Developing the vision for you business
Developing a culture within the organization
